FOGERTY`S SWAMP ROCK COMEBACK OF THE 21ST CENTURY MADE A SLIGHT DETOUR OUT OF LOUISIANA

As a massive Credence Clearwater Revival fan, I find it incredibly sad that John Fogerty`s 2004 album DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN has been totally overlooked by mainstream radio since being released.

After the knockout success of his mid 90`s long awaited comeback BLUE MOON SWAMP, which was just writhing in classic beefed up Credence like rhythm and blues and provided Fogerty with a couple of hit songs, this procrastinated studio album follow-up which was around seven years later was a more paired down and acoustic affair, with the exception of a few really
thunderous moments straight out of the Blue Moon Swamp manual.

Fogerty embarked on a world tour
following the release of BLUE MOON SWAMP in virtual heavy metal mode, I did go and see him play live at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in around 1998 and it was a killer show, only thing is that it was a bit too rowdy.

Because I know the words of most Credence songs it wasn`t a problem for me to hear the singing above the metal, but the friend who
was with me couldn`t hardly understand
a word Fogerty was screaming haha, no
really it was still a wonderful show and
spectacle.

To elaborate more about his forgotten about DEJA VU album, apart from the Led Zeppelin-ish masterful IN THE GARDEN, the Credence like and hilarious satirical tale of an old broomstick bitch in the Louisiana
swamp called WICKED OLD WITCH, and the blues fired funky rock of SHE`S GOT BAGGAGE, the album has a mostly acoustic, even one might say country rock feel to
it.

Obviously a reflection of Fogerty`s growing age and his desire to expand his musical repetoire to include some of his most personal influences which didn`t ever quite fit in with Credence Clearwater Revival and the sound which that band sought to achieve.
