WOLFMOTHER DO LED ZEPPELIN PROUD LIVE AT THE HAMMERSMITH APOLLO, LONDON

Lately it's become somewhat of a quest of mine to hunt down the ultimate rock cover of all time, along the way i have made some great discoveries, and here is another one i come across - a cover of the Led Zeppelin song COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN by australian rock band WOLFMOTHER. Not many bands would even be capable of attempting to take on a Led Zeppelin song, let alone succeed in creating an almost perfect duplicate of the original. But that's what WOLFMOTHER pulled off on Febuary 5th, 2007, when they performed COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN at the HAMMERSMITH APOLLO in London, not long before the band splintered, leaving only singer/guitarist ANDREW STOCKDALE to pick up the pieces to keep the band going. Bassist/keyboardist CHRIS ROSS and drummer MYLES HESKETT cited irreconcilable artistic and personal diffrences with STOCKDALE for leaving the band, just when WOLFMOTHER was about to go viral all over the world. In reality, both Ross and Heskitt didn't share the blues rock passion of Stockdale, and basically they could barely keep up with Stockdale's frenetic style of songwriting. Since the first Wolfmother split, there have been a few reportedly amicable line-up changes, as long as ANDREW STOCKDALE is a member of WOLFMOTHER it would seem that a diffrent bassist or drummer will have little effect on the epic retro-blues style that WOLFMOTHER escapulates. This just roars, not even Ozzy Osbourne could take off Robert Plant as good as Andrew Stockdale did here.
