GUY FAWKES NIGHT AND FIRECRACKERS WILL PUT A BIT OF BANG! BACK INTO THE LIFE OF PARTY POOPERS
Remember the days in Queensland when you could still let off some firecrackers, and maybe nearly lose a finger or two if you weren`t careful, on the annual Guy Fawkes night.
Too many people nearly lost fingers through sheer acts of stupidity so eventually the
retail purchase of firecrackers and other forms of fireworks was banned here.

Well you can still buy sparklers from Crazy
Clarks, fireworks for 5 year olds. They don't exactly make me have an orgasm to be perfectly honest (laugh).

As far as I am aware, fireworks are not completely banned for retail sale in other states of Australia, I really think it always was a bit of a nanny state initiative to ban them in Queensland because a few fools took the dare too far with fireworks and as a result injured themselves.
Back in the old days with Guy Fawkes night, the occasional person lost an eye or lost a finger due to excessive skylarking while in possession of a firecracker.
While this was an unfortunate happening when it took place I don't think Queenslanders in general should have been banned across the board from indulging in some fun and games once a year on Guy Fawkes night.
Perhaps firecrackers should be put in the same class as two-up in the state of Queensland, besides licensed casinos it`s illegal to play two-up anywhere else but the government does overlook the law for Anzac Day so all the old war diggers can have a flutter down at the RSL once a year with their mates.
In other words, how about we legalise firecrackers in Queensland just for Guy
Fawkes night once again and let people be responsible for their actions instead of being fuddy duddy party poopers.
