HEY BARTENDER REALLY GOT THE BLUES BROTHERS SHAKING THEIR TAILFEATHER

For all you Blues Brothers fans out there, be assured I am a dedicated admirer of Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi and the institution
of party blues which these guys gave to the world for a brief time together.

Belushi proved to be irreplaceable after his untimely death in 1982, but he hung around long enough on planet earth to be one half of an unlikely blues act that in time became an international phenomenon and continues to be revered by many to the point of cult worship.

There are many songs off the Blues Brothers soundtrack which I want to review seperately, the first one off the starting block for me is the jump blues classic HEY BARTENDER.

The formula is pretty simple, Belushi out front as normal belting out his style of vocals in the typically satirical manner he was renowned for, while Ackroyd warmed his tonsils up on harmonica backed by the best brass backing band in the business.

Belushi could never really sing, Ackroyd was even worse, but it never mattered with the Blues Brothers because it really was a case
of taking in the whole experience.

The Blues Brother movie complimenting the soundtrack was a box office flop in 1980, it was slow to catch on but in the end it and the music soundtrack which accompanied the movie become a cult classic and to this day there continues to be an annual get together in the states to commemorate the Blues Brothers legend which was born this time 31 years ago.

If you cant have fun listening to this the you aren`t much fun obviously. It`s enough to make you shake your tailfeather.
