I guess I had more exciting things to do besides reading books like backyard cricket, fishing and so many other outdoor activities.
I just wasn`t an indoor person, it was never anything personal against books. But I have to say that I think books are a very stimulating educational tool for children and a whole lot healthier for young minds than Facebook, Twitter and computer games.
One particular set of books which did take my fancy when I was a kid at primary school, I don't know if they still make them or if the same concept is still being applied under a different brand but CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE books were fun, not too long and allowed the reader to control the ending.
I cant say I have read one of these books
for about 25 years, but they really were a good option for a kid like me who didn`t have a big attention span to read fiction books but who still had a wild imagination and wanted to escape to fantasy land here and there.

If they`re still around get your kids to read
them, a good way of giving them a life away
from Facebook. That can't be such a bad thing.
