GOOD QUESTION, WHAT THE FOP HAPPENED TO RONALD MCDONALD?

My old mate Ben Sorenson from the Sunshine Coast reckons plenty of
people are reading my blog, i dont know Ben, i think you might be
full of chit man lol. Ben is a radio DJ who has his very own regular
nationwide radio program as well as a well recieved website, Real
Country. Look back a couple of blogs and you will see i even wrote
a blog for one of my biggest fans. He might be lefty, nerdy and
eccentric but i think Ben is a good bloke. I thought bugger it
tonight, like the last 50 blogs or so no one is commenting so
instead of music or TV i thought i`d right an off the wall blog
about one of the biggest lost treasures of them all, Ronald Mc-
Donald statues at McDonalds restaurants. Where the hell has the
man with the big red shoes vanished to? I am Queensland centric
to some extent, so perhaps this is only a Queensland thing and
maybe Ronald McDonald hasn`t been booted out of his restaurant
in other states of Australia. C`mon, what is McDonalds without
Ronald McDonald and the old fashioned playgrounds of yesteryear.
Someone else brought this to my attention, and coming to think
of it, not only is the statue of Ronald McDonald missing from
McDonalds restaurants in my neck of the woods but yeah, what
ever happened to the McDonalds playgrounds, they have either
shrunk in size considerably or vanished all together, depend-
ing on the particular McDonalds restaurant in question. I do
really hope this isn`t a case of political correctness catch-
ing up with Ronald McDonald and turning an icon into an obso-
lete untrendy villian, it wouldn`t surprise me if that were the
case actually. Ronald McDonald is a legend, he might have
always just stood there without moving or saying anything but
when i was a kid i looked up to the guy actually, sometimes i
even asked him for advice on how to pick up women and i`d
stand on his big red shoes to see if he went ouch but he never
did. McDonalds without Ronald McDonald is like Fleetwood Mac
without Mick Fleetwood, it just ain`t on. I hereby do call on
the head honchos of McDonalds in Australia to bring back
Ronald in all the restaurants, and also while i am at it,
i want to say that for goodness sake lets make the play-
grounds for the kiddies as big as they use to be. The few
McDonalds restaurants that still have playgrounds have ones
as big as sardine cans. It seems ironic that the one thing
that the head management of McDonalds in Australia has
forgotten about is the only and only Ronald McDonald.

  1. The reason they got rid of Ronald McDonald is because they are changing their image and marketing towards an older crowd. Older crowds, don't like creepy clowns - which is what he was. Also in the states, people think of clowns like him as child molesters, etc.. And in USA they have remodeled all their restaurants to look more like Starbucks instead of sitting inside of a cartoon. The cartoon look was so outdated.
