MARK BAILEY GREASIER THAN A SNAKE OIL SALESMAN

Transport Minister Mark Bailey had to expect the media grilling he has copped over the "hush job" email which he sent to his director-general in an attempt to keep from the public eye a multi-billion dollar rail project cost blowout.

But he probably wasn't expecting his own party's caucus to turn on him. In a particularly humiliating way.

Labor heavyweights obviously now see Bailey as a monkey around the neck of the Palaszczuk government that needs to be caged before he becomes a re-election liability for Labor later next year.

In the absence of any apology to the people of Queensland for the scandalous email which landed Bailey in all this hot water, to acknowledge that it was very wrong what he did, you have to assume that he is not sorry for his actions whatsoever. It wasn't just a minor discrepancy which Bailey attempted to conceal from the public. It wasn't just a "few million".

We're talking here in terms of billions of dollars that went missing in action. Anyone worthy to hold a ministry in any government would not have chosen the course of action which Bailey did. That's why he deserves everything which is now coming his way.
