The controversial stumping of English batsman Jonny Bairstow in the 2nd Ashes test at Lord's was the epitome of bad sportsmanship.
It was "dirty", simple as that. English supporters had every right to boo the Australian players off the field all the way into the dressing room.
Definitely reminiscent of that infamous incident in a 1981 one day international match between Australia and New Zealand when Greg Chappell directed his brother Trevor to bowl the last ball of the innings underarm to prevent New Zealand from having any chance of winning the match.
Maybe not as dirty as that but Bairstow's stumping definitely goes down as a big stain on the Australian cricket team, and their failure to play in the true spirit of the game.
