RICHARD PAGE SHINES SINGING 'THE BORDER' WITH MR. MISTER
For some strange reason which defied the typically successful commercial niche which AOR rock and pop always seemed to jag during the mid to late 1980's, the 1987 MR. MISTER album GO ON failed badly where the previous one WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD succeeded greatly in commercial terms.
GO ON was a more accomplished achievement for the band, more melodramatic and downbeat but a more convincing display of progressive rock dynamics than their 1985 charttopper, which arguably suffered from too much production and has dated a lot worse because of its more 'pop' feel. The songs HEALING WATERS and POWER OVER ME showcase stunning vocals from singer RICHARD PAGE, but THE BORDER is probably his best performance ever.
