COME PLAY WITH TY TABOR IN THE ROCK GARDEN

TY TABOR is one of my favorite guitarists in any genre. Maybe that is because the KING'S X guitarist for nigh on 30 years been a master of combining metal, progressive, rock and pop better than just about anyone else in the history of popular music itself.

His early work with KING'S X, especially the power chord and dead heavy fueled riffs which he cranked out on the band's awesome 1987 debut, OUT OF THE SILENT PLANET, is what will forever define Tabor, but he has had his moments as a solo artist in his own right, with a string of solo albums from the early 2000's onwards.

One of most celebrated and critically claimed solo outings of Tabor's is ROCK GARDEN, released in 2006, which showcases everything from a BEATLES to an ALICE IN CHAINS influence, and an AIC influence is particularly evident on track 5 - PLAY. Superbly structured, dense, furious but still just a classic piece of classic rock.
