TAKE A WALK WITH PANTERA

Too late here to put any deep thought into writing an epic, gee it seems a long time since i even challenged myself to write one of those (laugh), gone are the days of me trying to reach four digits in the word count for a blog. Too much social media to contend with now to bother but i still love the 'longer' version of writing as opposed to 140 character rants on Twitter, as entertaining as it can be at times.

Here is a golden oldie thrash metal punk rock influenced tune from PANTERA called WALK, considered by many metal fans to be one of the best metal songs of the 90's. The song comes off the only PANTERA album i have in my collection called VULGAR DISPLAY OF POWER, and in many respects, that sums up the album to a tee.

Released in 1992 in the wake of METALLICA's huge 1991 self titlled breakthrough, VULGAR DISPLAY OF POWER combines great melodic structure in the vein of the Metallica 'black' album with the abrasiveness of punk and hardcore. Listening to the album it's hard to believe these guys started out as a glam band covering 70's KISS.
