MONDO ROCK LOVED BEING IN A COOL WORLD
MONDO ROCK was an australian rock institution during the 80's, even if a very uncool band for a high school kid to like when most of your mates were listening to METALLICA. But even though i had tomatoes and half eaten apples chucked at me in the playground for doing so (laugh), i was brave enough to always admit to anyone that i was an admirer of ROSS WILSON, the lead singer and co-songwriter in the band.
There were a few diffrent incarnations of MONDO ROCK from when the band started in 1979 with the debut album PRIMAL PARK, but by far the most productive combination for the band, both artistically and commercially, was when Wilson employed the services of lead guitarist ERIC MCCUSTER, who was a most underated songwriter in his own right and actually wrote many classic MONDO ROCK songs during Wilson's self confessed years of suffering songwriters block. COOL WORLD is one of the few Wilson wrote during the early 80's and it's my favourite MONDO ROCK song. It was released in 1981.
