SHOULD YOUTH CRIME POLICY DECIDE OCTOBER ELECTION IN QUEENSLAND CRISAFULLI WILL THUMP MILES

A few key issues which impact the vast majority of Queenslanders by all rights should decide whether the Miles government or Crisafulli opposition wins the election in October.

None more so than youth crime. It is a simple, straightforward, pragmatic equation. Is the government or the opposition more capable, more wanting, more ideologically attuned to cracking down on youth crime in a no nonsense, pragmatic, common sense manner?

At face value, and based upon the core policy position of Labor and the LNP, if youth crime is a cornerstone pillar of who wins the election, Crisafulli should absolutely thump Miles.

Even if there is "legal impracticalities" in the anti youth crime LNP mantra, at least Crisafulli is genuinely committed to listening to broad community concerns about youth crime, and hearing first hand from victims what they have suffered at the hands of juvenile offenders.

When Crisafulli has attended public meetings and rallies aimed at the youth crime epidemic, it hasn't been propagandist. Even if he hasn't got all the answers, at least he has been prepared to get down on street level with ordinary people to try and grasp the full extent of how bad youth crime in Queensland is. On that count, Steven Miles really doesn't have a clue.

  1. I don't think it changes who wins the Election. Magistrates will still pussyfoot around and release them with a Caution.
