MARIA MCKEE - SHOW ME HEAVEN (DAYS OF THUNDER SOUNDTRACK)

Right now I am toying around with writing something about an offbeat sort of alternative country band from the 80`s called LONE JUSTICE, a band founded by MARIA MCKEE, a Los Angeles born cowgirl type who scored a major UK hit with this song off the DAYS OF THUNDER soundtrack - SHOW ME HEAVEN.

I wont start digging into McKee's whole career, because usually when i do that I write a blog as big as Ben Hur (laugh), but the uniqueness of LONE JUSTICE, which the american country music press termed cowpoke punk (sounds interesting at the very least) back in the 80`s, is probaly worth a hearing on Lost Treasures.

If it's a lemon then I will be the one with egg all over my face hey (laugh). Anyhow, save LONE JUSTICE for another time, here is Maria McKee with SHOW ME HEAVEN.

Tom Cruise certainly had a habit of starring in films back in those days which at least had good soundtracks to go with them, DAYS OF THUNDER of course was the movie that gave life to a real life romance between Cruise and australian temptress NICOLE KIDMAN.

Quite sure Cruise and Kidman were sowing a few wild oats during filming of the movie, the relaxed and playful chemistry between the two in this movie made their stilted performance in EYES WIDE SHUT many years later almost painful to watch (laugh).
