SOME QUEENSLAND POLICE OFFICERS JUST CAN'T HELP BUT BE ARSEHATS

Revelations at the DV inquiry that 1676 complaints were made against Queensland police officers for sexist, racist, misogynistic and homophobic behaviour over a 2 year period is profoundly scandalous to say the least, especially in light of the fact that some of the officers who are accused are commissioned rank officers.

Detective inspectors all the way up to very senior superintendents. What they are accused of is very serious misconduct. Point blank. Commissioner Katarina Carroll isn't denying it.

A total, categorical breach of their position and public office, as somebody who is supposed to do everything possible to stop any form of vilification, harassment and marginalisation of any member of the general public.

Instead of fanning it and essentially promoting it by going off on some stupid tangent when they've obviously had too much to drink and "lose their inhibitions" at a police function or social gathering, and don't control what comes out of their mouth.

This sort of behaviour and conduct from  Queensland police, from the lowest to the highest ranks, is nothing new. It's been going on for a long time, long before the two year window of time which is the subject of the DV inquiry.

We as members of the public nonetheless shouldn't "get it in" for all police because of the actions of some.

There is still a lot of ethical and "good natured" police in Queensland who don't have a sexist, racist, misogynist or homophobic bone in their body, who are just doing their job, and doing it well.

Those police officers shouldn't be maligned by any of those who have been, or are about to be, exposed by the DV inquiry.
