There is a woman by the name of Denise down at Cafe Kiks at Fernvale who is absolutely going to love me for posting this one, she might even give me a free coffee next time I am in there (laugh), because she is a huge fan of JOHNNY GREEN'S BLUES COWBOYS, who hail from Newcastle in New South Wales, and who to be honest I had never heard of before me and Denise got chatting about music this morning.
Denise was actually the drummer in a band called BLACK ROSE many years ago, a band that only ever managed to release an EP of three songs with the title track being GETTING EVEN, although I am not sure if it was ever officially released or remained a demo.
She has good taste in aussie music, loves her AC/DC and JIMMY BARNES, and yeah she loves these guys.
Not sure how active JOHNNY GREEN'S BLUES COWBOYS are circa 2013, and who's in the band and who isn't, but back in 2007 and 2008 the band were in full swing, judging by the amount of clips of the band posted on You Tube from around about that time.
After only a few listens to the band, I can certainly see more than a vague similarity in the overall fusion approach to america's RUFUS HUFF, the blues side project band of KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS mastermind and artistic lynchpin GREG MARTIN, both of which I have a lot of time for, especially RUFUS HUFF.

The performance above of JOHHNY GREEN'S BLUES COWBOYS was one of my favourites which I had the good pleasure of hearing tonight.
