When i started this blog about six months ago, with the intention
of creating a light hearted and much more laid back forum than
my other website, Badrick Unadulterated, my aim was to give
music lovers out there, regardless of their tastes in music, the
oppurtunity to interact with me as the blog author, as well as
other commenters, and have some good no nonsense fun and
the chance to make as many spontaneous comments as they
wanted, even if the comments they made were not related to
the particular artist i was reviewing or if the intent was there
to take the piss out of me in a good natured way. When i look
at my Google links to this blog, i realise that Buddy Wilson is
not the only one looking at this blog. Judging by the internet,
i have many hundreds of readers at the very least. And yet,
for whatever crazy reason, Buddy Wilson for the most part
is the only person who has bothered to make comments to
this blog. And rightfully, i have the right to ask all the other
people who are reading my blog this simple question - why
the hell wont you make a comment on the odd occasion to
my website? If you bother to read Lost Treasures Music
Review, and you obviously have a love of many forms of
music, then why, may i fucking ask you, cant you find it
within yourself to make a comment to my blogs as i`ve
previously requested you do here and there to give me
some momentum and inspiration to continue to bother
writing music blogs. I am not a musician, i am not even
musically talented as such, the only musical instrument
i can play is improvised harmonica, i cant read sheet mu-
sic to save myself. Lost Tresaures Music Review is a bit
of casual pisstake fun, it`s a blog which i set up intention-
ally to give me a break from all the seriousness and deep
thinking procrastination of Badrick Unadulterated. Seri-
ously, if i cant start getting people to start commenting
to this blog then i will have no choice but to say bugger
you and i`ll have to start reviewing meandearing stuff
like classical music, because i cant afford to keep wast-
ing all these wonderful ideas when i am writing about
popular music if no one is going to bother to interact
with me and make this blog a forum for the fun and
nonsense which it could evoke if all the hundreds of
apathetic readers of the blog would care to involve
themselves, other than just sitting on their fat lazy
arse and linking certain blogs and bootlegging them
across the internet. People, all respect meant okay,
i need commenters to Lost Treasures Music Review,
that`s what this kind of forum is all about. My other
blog, Badrick Unadulterated, is more politically orien-
tated and i moderate comments on that blog, so i can
understand if people are a lot more stand-offish when
thinking about making a comment to that blog. On the
other hand, Lost Treasures Music Review is not mode-
rated, you can come on here 24/7 and make any stupid
comment you want, and i am inviting you to do just that.
But for some crazy reason, up this this point in time, no
one, besides Buddy Wilson and a few one-off comment-
ers, has bothered to make this blog work the way that
it was intended to. If Lost Treasures Music Review was
a live radio program, and i had to deal with such an apa-
thetic audience, then the truth is i would have told most
of the people who read my blog to take a hike and only
come back when they want to participate and make a
few comments to my blog to keep me inspired if noth-
ing else. I say this to everybody, and i pull on punches,
if you dont want to do what i am asking you to do then
go and look at someone elses music blog and link all the
blogs you want without making a comment, but with me
the deal is participate or take a hike. I cant force anyone
to do so as long as i keep writing music blogs. It has def-
initely crossed my mind to shut this blog down due to all
this unrelenting apathy from my readers to make some
comments, but i have decided that i will continue no mat-
ter what. But if people dont start making comments very
quickly, then i will write about every piece of Mozart and
every wobble board ditty of Rolf Harris i can find, as long
as it isn`t popular music. I am not some overbearing fas-
cist pig, but unlike a squillion leftie blog writers on the in-
ternet, who revel in self indulgency and dont give a shit if
anyone reads what they write about, i place a few condit-
ions of entry on what the attitude people have who read
my blog. I am providing a free media source, all i do ask
is that you all respect my wishes and start making Lost
Treasures Music Review the blog that it should be, and
that is a good natured forum for people to say anything
they want about music and what does or doesn`t tickle
their fancy. Dont keep taking this blog for granted OK.
It's really hard to be a freelance blogger these days, there is literally too many blogs to even begin to count them, and I don't know if they all are having the same trouble.
ReplyDeleteJudging by the impending closing or at least going into recievership of A&R and Borders, reading material on the internet is taking the lions share of peoples free reading itme. Anyway, even I have been slack lately, busy with my own shitand not getting around blogs like I used to, and I really don't go far afeild sticking mainly to local content.
Anyway, here's your BW comment, even if it's saying bugger all.
And come on all you lurkers, you know you either agree or disagree, here's your opportunity to have your say, or even if you have an artist that you'd particularly like his unique spin put on, give him a flick and let him know.
