TI SI PJESMA MOJE DUSE AS CRISP AS AN ADRIATIC SEABREEZE

Feeling a bit adventurous right now, a bit exotic, so I thought now might be the right time to put a plug in for a song from Croatia, of all places, which was released in 1986, the artist being somebody who I wouldn`t know if I tripped over him.

He is Miso Kovac, and the song is `Ti Si Pjesma Moje Duse`. As you could guess by that, the song isn`t rendered in english but in the native tongue of Dalmatia.

It is just the most beautiful hymn like anthem you could ever swing your hips
to in the whole wide world.

My mum and dad put me onto the song actually, after they went to Croatia for a holiday last year. The song was played while they travelling on a bus down the coast near Dubrovnik overlooking the Adriatic Sea.

After listening to the song a few times, I could totally understand what they meant when they said that Ti Si Pjesma Moje Duse by Miso Kovac ended up being somewhat of a soundtrack to their holiday on this particular day.

I haven`t been to Croatia myself, but I can just picture this song being played in the quaint little hamlets that are dotted all over the Baltic states, with plenty of stout and cigarettes on hand.

I know how much the Slavs can drink, and what`s the bet this song has often been used as an excuse by many of them to stand up on a table at a groupie gathering in the fields of Dalmatia to see if the whiskey has kicked in or not.
